A Good Laugh

Sometimes, all you need to reboot yourself is a good laugh. This past week I don't think I could have fit any more end of the school year events, beginning of the summer concerts, early father's day baseball games, dinner celebrations, birthday preparations and photo edits into the same week without looking like 'you know, that crazy one!' (oh and don't forget the list of yard work with the looming deadline of June 1st if I don't want to receive 'a letter' from my homeowners association. Yikes!)

So to take the edge off a bit, I decided to take a peek at a site that I knew would bring me some laughter. Have you heard of CAKE WRECKS? http://www.cakewrecks.blogspot.com/ . It's this great site showcasing hilarious cake mishaps (or what should be deemed as mishaps). Author Jen Yate's commentary is equally up roaring. The combination of the funky cakes and Jen's feisty words make for a sweet ending!

Here's THE photo that helped get Cake Wrecks on a roll:

You should totally check out Jen's Cake Wrecks site http://www.cakewrecks.blogspot.com . Scroll down the page and on the right hand side you'll see a 'Fan Favorites' column. A couple of posts (like The First Censored Cake Wreck - it is just so wrong!) contain PG material so be aware if kiddos are on the scene. My favs are too plentiful to name so go to the site yourself and see which ones you like. If you don't come away with some laughter on your face, you might need to go eat some cake!

Delightfully,
Christa

Ode 2 Mom

It's time to celebrate Mom! I personally think that we should have a celebratory WEEK devoted to Mom's. There could be a day of utter pampering, a day off from the endless piles of laundry, a day filled with flowers and candy; I think you know what I'm sayin'! So hat's off to you Mom for being the catch all for everybody. Happy Mother's Day to you!

Here are some extraordinary Mom's who I have had the privilege of photographing.

Mommy Giggles

(Did you notice the cute skirts the girls in the above photos were wearing? Their fascinating Mom Milissa, created them the morning of this photo shoot! No joke. Isn't she talented?!? If you'd like to see more of her creations check out her site at www.trendysisters.com . Her work is preemo and her prices are excellent. Adding her clothes to your children make for delightful photos! Although there are too many states between us to attend one of her shows, I have purchased some of her items online. She is extraordinary!)

Being surrounded by your children can be overwhelming at times. But that's certainly not the sense I get from the picture below!

Sometimes all you need is your mom telling you that things will be okay to believe it to be true...

And lastly, I couldn't deliver an 'Ode to Mom' without including the video below. Many of you may have witnessed it before but it never hurts to view it again. Thanks to the brilliant Anita Renfrow for producing the original Ode.

Girls! Girls! Girls!

"Oh girls - girls just want to have fun!" Have I evoked a memory? I have to admit, I felt a bit nostalgic while photographing the lovelies you're about to see below. I grew up in the land of sisterhood; 3 girls all filled with emotions with the youngest sister being several years younger than the other 2. Working with Karen and her lovely daughters made me think of my own sisters and how much fun girls are!

I have had the pleasure of getting to know Karen over the past couple of months as our children play together. We both have similar roots in the Midwest. We both have a concern for our environment. And we both occasionally crave some 'adults only' time! What I love dearly about Karen though, is that she has reminded me that Motherhood, although filled with many ups and downs, can be the most rewarding time of your life if you let it. And that hearing your daughter say, "I want to be just like you when I grow up Mommy!" is not a bad thing.

View the pictures below and you'll understand why Karen and her 3 delightful daughters were so much fun to hang out with.

Fun with Mom

Thanks Karen for reminding me that motherhood can be filled with fun and laughter!

3 + 1 = Tears & Fun!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be the mother of multiples? I must admit, prior to experiencing motherhood myself, I often day-dreamed of how much 'fun' it would be to have twins. Now, as the mother of 3, I can only say these women of multiples are definitely champions! I was extremely pleased when Jessica, a lovely mother of multiples +, contacted me about taking some photos. I had met her son and triplet girls on a variety of occasions through activities sponsored by the Kennesaw Chapter of the Mom's Club. (http://www.momsclub.org/)

On the day of the shoot, we had finally started to feel some warmer temperatures here in the Atlanta area. These girlies were so well behaved and loved by their bigger brother! Oh, they were so much fun. Now I know that Jessica and her husband Michael have their hands full but I realize that their hearts must be overflowing as well. Thanks guys for offering me just a sneak peek into the world of multiples.

We've got our own personalities! Miss J loves looking at the world from a different view. Look at her eyes. Aren't they gorgeous! Ethereal...

I love being upside down!

Thank you so much Jessica and Michael for sharing your joys with me! Here's hoping that your world continues to be blessed with the wonderful music of your children's laughter and tears.

No Tears!

Erin & Sophie

Erin & Sophie are two adorable ballerinas in the making! They attend class at The Georgia Ballet School www.georgiaballet.org located in Marietta GA. In preparation for their School Recital this weekend, May 2nd & 3rd, we took some fun pictures in their recital costumes. They showed me part of their routine for New York New York doing a fabulous job! I can't tell you how many compliments strangers gave them while we were taking pictures. Take a peek and you'll understand why people were so curious about these two sweet ballerinas!

Freshman, Sophmore, Junior....

It's that time of year again! Some kids are counting down the end of the school year. Others, well they're already getting ready for a momentous time in their lives. I was fortunate enough to spend some time with Miss S. and what a joy she is! She had no inhibitions about onlookers stares and like her mother, I believe Miss S. has some wonderfully piercing eyes! Here's a quick peek at some of the fun we had together.
